Trip concludes on the afternoon of Tuesday, August 12 ending at the Dalhousie University Student Union Building – Conference venue – in advance of the Reception beginning at 6:00 PM.  Drop-offs at local hotels will considered if proximal to the Conference Venue, of which most are.  Such requests should be discussed with the trip leader prior to arriving in Halifax.  Those staying at the Dalhousie student residence are a three minute walk from the venue.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ALL FIELD TRIP PARTICIPANTS

  • All Participants must arrange their own flights and have their own health & travel Insurance
  • All Participants must read, complete, and sign the following attached documents:

  • Completed / Signed documents MUST be placed in a sealed envelope and passed in to the Field Trip Leader prior to departing on the field trip. Please print your name clearly on the envelope. 

Included in cost of the Field Trip

  • Boxed Lunches – Saturday, Sunday & Monday
  • Accommodations – Saturday, Sunday & Monday (Friday is the responsibility of the Participants.
  • Transportation via van

Breakfast & Evening Dinner are not provided as a part of the Field Trip and are therefore the responsibility of each individual Participant. All Participants are encouraged to have dinners at the suggested meal venues.

Please note: a rooming list of Participant names will be provided to each of the hotels. Therefore, it is not necessary to book individually.

What to Bring:

  • Clothing for warm, cool, and possibly wet weather including a small umbrella
  • Shoes that can get wet. (Make sure there is ankle support if you have the slightest doubt about the strength of your ankles
  • Any field gear you might need including your own rock hammer

However, cost of this hotel is not included in the price of the Field Trip; it is the responsibility of each Participant to book their room and take care of their hotel bill.
