A limited number of traditional residence style sleeping accommodations have been set aside for the Central Atlantic Congugate Margins conference at Dalhousie University, Howe Hall, which is located at 6230 Coburg Rd., in Halifax, near to the meeting facilities.
Howe Hall offers single and double (two single beds) dormitory-style residence room with shared washroom facilities (male and female designations available), coin-operated laundry facilities, 24-hour staffed front desk service, pay phones throughout the building, on-site dining hall and common lounges – some with cable televisions.

Student Rate *
Single rooms: $26.45/night
Double rooms: $48.70/night
* Please note that Valid student ID required upon check in, in order to receive the discounted student rate. It is recommended that these individuals identify themselves during the reservation process to ensure an efficient check-in experience.
Professional Rates:
Single rooms: $40.50/night
Double rooms: $63.90/night
All rates include: Destination Halifax marketing levy on accommodations portion only, HST where applicable, linen, towels & regular membership privileges to Dalplex Athletic Facility.
2007 RATES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE IN 2008 (3-5% increase). Please note that any change in rates will be posted on this website as they are received.
Parking permits are available for $4 per space per day (This rate is subject to increase in 2008) for conference guests who are staying in residence. Overnight guests may purchase parking permits directly at the front desk of Howe Hall upon check-in.
High speed Internet is available in each residence room at a rate of $5/connection/day + HST. Arrangements for this service can be made directly at the front desk of Howe Hall. Guests are asked to supply their own Ethernet card and cables.
ROOM RELEASE DATE:
The final room release date is July 7, 2008. At which time, all rooms remaining in the room block that have not been reserved will be released.
RESERVATION / PAYMENT PROCESS
Each individual is responsible for making his/her own reservations via the Conference Services Office, and is responsible for paying for his/her own accommodations upon check-in.
In order to process and confirm a reservation, we require the following information:
Full name of guest
Contact information including: telephone number, email address and mailing address
Check in and check out dates
Single or double residence room and how many
Name of roommate (if applicable)
Valid credit card (VISA, MasterCard and American Express accepted)

Guests MUST identify the group name of CONJUGATE MARGINS CONFERENCE when making reservations and a credit card is required in order to confirm a reservation. Visa, MasterCard or American Express are accepted.

The Lord Nelson Hotel and Suites is just a 10 minute walk to the Marion McCain Arts and Social Sciences Building on University Avenue. RESERVATION STATUS:
Individual rooms will be held until 1:00 p.m. on the day prior to arrival, unless guaranteed by the individual guests by deposit of one night room rate or credit card. Please note that in the case of non-arrival, the first night of the
reservation invoiced to the individual.
RELEASE DATE:
After your release date of Wednesday, July 3, 2008, additional reservations will be accepted and confirmed on a
space-availability basis. All rooms that remain in the block on the release date revert to the Hotel for general sale.
ARRIVAL/DEPARTURE INFORMATION
Guest check out time is 1:00pm. Rooms are not available prior to 3:00pm though every attempt will be made
to accommodate an earlier arrival request.
BILLING
All room, taxes and incidental Charges are the responsibility of the individual guest. Individuals are required to provide a credit card imprint of a $50.00 refundable deposit for the reservation upon check-in.
